Founded in 1994 by dedicated lactation consultants and mothers, Lactation Resources of Vermont became Vermont’s Premier Medical Equipment provider. Since then, our mission has been to provide easy access to the lactation supplies, equipment, and support that mothers and lactating folk need in order to meet their goals and feed Vermont’s youngest population. We’re managed by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Lisa Velasquez Kerns, and Heather Coons, RN, IBCLC, and have convenient distribution sites throughout the state of Vermont. Our Lactation Resource distribution sites are operated by local parents who are passionate about lactation and helping Vermont families thrive!

Lisa Velasquez Kerns, IBCLC has been a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, La Leche League Leader, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2009.

As the Billing Specialist at Lactation Resources of Vermont, I am also a proud mother of two with a lifelong passion for breastfeeding. I exclusively breastfed both of my children, overcoming numerous challenges along the way. Through perseverance and dedication, I breastfed for a combined total of 43 months and donated more than 10,000 ounces of breast milk to help babies in need throughout my community.
My background in childcare has allowed me to work closely with many families, offering encouragement and support to parents navigating their own breastfeeding journeys. These personal and professional experiences have strengthened my commitment to supporting families and promoting positive breastfeeding experiences.
I am excited to combine my administrative role with my passion for supporting families at LRV. It is an honor to be part of a team dedicated to empowering parents, and I look forward to contributing to the compassionate care and support we provide.
